[challenge] Day 22 - Soubi/Ritsuka

Day 22 - You wake up with a key gripped tightly in your hand. How did you get this key? What does it lock or unlock?

Soubi/Ritsuka (Loveless) → drabble || romance, pg

Groaning softly Ritsuka shifted on the fluffy mattress under the warm covers that his figure was tucked in. His head ached tremendously and it reminded him of that the former night he had strolled through the heavy rain out on the cold and that he had reached Soubi's apartment, but after that everything was nothing but blackness.
When he sat slowly up and rubbed his eyes, he noticed that he was holding onto something tightly with his right hand. Opening his palm he blinked confused at the little object. It was a tiny silvery key, barely reaching an inch and Ritsuka wondered how it got there in the first place.
“Ah, you're awake. That's good,” Soubi's voice interrupted his train of thoughts when the older came over to the bed with a tray in his hands. Ritsuka nibbled carefully on his breakfast. He still had a headache and from what Soubi had told him, he had had a pretty bad fever throughout the night. This would explain why he felt that exhausted in the first place.
Ritsuka's ears perked up when he remembered about the little key and voiced his question out without further ado, “Uhm, do you know where I got this key from, Soubi?” The boy cocked his head to the side when he registered Soubi jumping a little at the mention of the key.
The brownish-blond haired cleared his throat softly and tried to suppress the flush creeping into his face when he replied, “I don't know either where it comes from.”
“Hm, I see,” Ritsuka muttered and eyed the key intensely. He really wondered where it came from or what the key was for. To Soubi's fortune, if you wanted to call it that, Ritsuka had forgotten about the quite embarrassing statement that it was a key to Soubi's heart and he should take good care of it. It was his pride's luck that Ritsuka had been in feverish delirium right that moment and he would make sure that the boy wouldn't find out about it unless he should miraculously remember it by himself.
